Introduction: When the Phone Rings After Midnight… Don’t Answer
They say old hotels have memories.
Echoes of people who checked in… but never checked out.
Some rooms get locked forever. Some phones never stop ringing.
And sometimes, the call isn't coming from outside.
The Check-In
Lina was a travel photographer. Bold, fearless.
She’d stayed in hostels, forest cabins, even a tent in a lightning storm.
But nothing ever scared her.
Until the night she booked a last-minute stay at the Maple Hollow Inn, just outside a forgotten town.
The receptionist hesitated when assigning her a room.
"Only Room 206 is available," she said flatly.
“No problem,” Lina replied.
Big mistake.
The First Ring
At exactly 12:44 AM, the phone in her room rang.
Not her mobile.
The dusty beige landline on the nightstand.
She answered.
A girl’s voice whispered:
"Please don’t leave me here…"
Lina froze.
“Who is this?”
But the line went dead.
The Second Night
She tried to laugh it off.
Old buildings make noises. Wires cross. Prank calls.
But again, at 12:44 AM, the phone rang.
This time, the voice was louder. More desperate.
“I’m in the walls. Please get me out.”
Lina called the front desk.
They insisted:
"There’s no line active in that room. That phone hasn’t worked in years."
The Hidden Door
The next day, Lina investigated.
She noticed the wallpaper near the closet was peeling.
Underneath… a hidden door. Nailed shut. Painted over.
Behind it:
A narrow space.
Dust. Scratch marks.
A small child’s shoe.
And the faint sound of… breathing.
The Final Call
That night, Lina didn’t sleep.
She sat by the phone, camera ready, shaking.
12:44 AM. Riiiiiiing…
She answered.
The voice was right behind her now:
“Turn around.”
She did.
The closet door opened by itself.
A small hand reached out.
Then the camera fell.
And Lina vanished.
The Room Remains
Room 206 is no longer listed.
The door is locked.
But guests in the rooms nearby still hear a phone ringing late at night.
And a girl whispering:
“Please don’t leave me here…”
Final Warning
If you ever stay in a quiet old hotel…
Don’t trust the silence.
Don’t answer late-night calls.
And never, ever check Room 206.
