“Don’t Look at Her Teeth”

🩸 Introduction

Some old women have candy.
Some have stories.
This one had… a secret she only shared with those who stared too long.

πŸ•―️ The Village of Gorakhnath

There was a road no one used after dusk.

They said an old woman sat there on a rock near the pond, brushing her long black hair with broken fingernails. Her back always to you. Her head always bowed.

Locals said:
“If you pass her, don’t stop.”
“If she speaks, don’t answer.”
“And whatever you do... DON’T look at her teeth.”

πŸͺ¦ The Fool Who Laughed

Arsalan, a city boy visiting his nani’s village, didn’t believe in “silly ghost stories.”

One night, he sneaked out with his cousin to find “the famous witch of Gorakhnath.”
He had a torch.
He had jokes.
He had no idea what he was walking into.

πŸŒ• The Rock by the Water

They saw her—just as described.

Sitting. Still. Facing the pond. Hair down to her waist. One hand brushing it again and again.

“She’s just some old beggar,” Arsalan said, and whistled at her.
She didn’t move.

He picked up a stone and threw it near her feet.
She turned her head.

Not fully. Just enough to reveal one side of her jaw.

Her lips opened.

And Arsalan laughed.
Because he saw… no teeth.
Just a dark, wet gumline like melted tar.

“You forgot your dentures, aunty,” he mocked.

Then—her jaw cracked open wide.
Unhinged.
Stretched.

Inside weren’t teeth…
but tiny wriggling fingers.
Dozens of them. Like they wanted to reach out. Grab. Pull.

🩸 What Happened After

His cousin ran. Arsalan didn't.

The villagers found him the next morning at the edge of the pond. Still alive. Eyes open. But paralyzed, his lips whispering something over and over:

“She smiled at me… she smiled at me…”

They say his mouth never closed again.
He was buried two months later, after choking on his own tongue in his sleep.

πŸ•―️ One Last Warning

Some say the woman still waits by the pond.
Others say she moves from village to village, always sitting, always brushing, always waiting for someone too bold…
too curious…
too rude.

So if you ever pass someone brushing her hair in the dark—

  • Don’t stare.

  • Don’t joke.

  • And whatever you do…
    don’t look at her teeth.
